Welcome to my site! I am a certified Irish dance teacher (Teastais de Comhdháil na Rince Gaelacha), or T.C.R.G., under the USA Irish Dance Teachers Alliance branch of An Chomhdháil. I have over 25 years of Irish dance experience, and I currently teach Irish dance through my school: Virginia Academy of Irish Dance.​
Every performance - on stage, in class, practicing at home, or in competition - is an opportunity to share beauty, art, and creativity. I look forward to sharing the joy of music and Irish dance with my students and everyone I encounter. ​​​​

Virginia Academy of Irish Dance is owned by Shani DuFrain, T.C.R.G., and certified through Dublin-based Chomhdháil na Múinteoirí le Rincí Gaelacha Teoranta.
Every dancer is unique: having unique strengths, and unique needs. Therefore, every class combines a primary focus on music and rhythm, traditional Irish dance technique, and a practical application of fitness expertise, to help every Irish dancer excel - whether their interest is recreational, competitive, or career driven.
