The Virginia Academy of Irish Dance (VAID) is a small school located in Northern Virginia. Owned and operated by Shani DuFrain, VAID combines competitive and recreational Irish dance with a practical application of fitness expertise to help every dancer excel.

SHANI DUFRAIN, TCRG
Shani DuFrain is a certified Irish dance teacher (Teagascóir Choimisiúin le Rinci Gaelacha), or TCRG.

In September of 2021, Shani resigned from her position as Co-Owner of Phoenix Irish Dance Academy. She joyfully welcomed her fifth child in April of 2022, and currently teaches Irish dance on a very small scale through her school, the Virginia Academy of Irish Dance.
